What is POC? What do you mean?

In the field of portable oxygen concentrators, POC stands for "Portable Oxygen Concentrator," which translates directly to "Portable Oxygen Concentrator."

Therefore, the POC here is entirely different from "Proof of Concept" (concept validation); it merely shares the same acronym. The specific differences are as follows:

Portable: Core feature. These devices are typically lightweight (some weighing as little as 2.5kg) and can be carried in backpacks or small trailers, enabling patients requiring oxygen therapy (such as those with COPD) to move freely outdoors without being confined to homes or hospitals.

Oxygen (Oxygen): Specify the intended use. It is a device that provides medical-grade oxygen to individuals requiring supplemental oxygen.

Concentrator: Working Principle. Unlike traditional oxygen tanks that store oxygen, it extracts and concentrates oxygen from ambient air through physical methods (such as molecular sieve technology). Theoretically, as long as there is electricity, it can provide a continuous supply of oxygen.

So, when you see POC in the medical or respiratory health field, it refers to this lightweight medical device that can produce oxygen from the air and allow patients to carry it with them. It is a completely independent discourse system from POC, which serves as a "proof of concept" in the fields of computer and business.
